Mayor Jack Mikolajczyk

Mayor Jack Mikolajczyk is a proud Middlesex resident since 1990. He was a member of the Middlesex Board of Education for six years and served as president for five years. He also was a member of the Shade Tree Commission, member of the Middlesex Budget Committee, Chairperson of the Cub Scout Committee, and a Recreation Department coach volunteer for over 13 years.

Mayor Jack Mikolajczyk graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in Economics. He has been a manager at Pamarco Global Graphics for 35 years and previously was a Councilman and council representative for the OEM, Rescue, Fire, Police and Municipal Court.

Council President Michael Conahan

Council President Mike Conahan and his wife, Maddalena, are proud Middlesex residents since 2002, in addition, to Maddalena being a proud Middlesex High School graduate, class of 1988.

Mike served as a volunteer on the Middlesex Zoning Board of Adjustment, in numerous positions over 12 years, including 4 years as Chairman. He also served as a volunteer on the Planning Board for approximately 6 years, including 2 years as Vice-Chairman. He also served as a volunteer on the Middlesex Board of Health for approximately 5 years. Mike was also a volunteer member of the Middlesex Borough 100th Anniversary Committee in 2013.

Most recently, Mike served as a volunteer on the Joint Land Use Board (JLUB) for 4 years, 3 years as Chairman. He also served as a volunteer on the Middlesex Board of Health for almost 2 years, including one year as Vice-President. Mike also served as a volunteer on the Middlesex Recreation Committee for 6 years. He also served as a volunteer on the Middlesex Redevelopment Committee for the last 4 years.

Mike was appointed to the Middlesex Borough Council, to fill a vacancy, on July 7, 2022. He then won reelection for the remaining one year of the unexpired term, on November 8, 2022, and was sworn in on January 3, 2023. Mike was again reelected to a full three-year term, on November 7, 2023, and was sworn in on January 2, 2024.

He graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Mike currently works in the private sector and has done so successfully for the last 29 years.

He and his wife Maddalena, have 2 teenage children, Jacalyn and Megan. Over the last 12 years, Mike has coached them both in Soccer, Basketball and Softball. They also have a dog they rescued, Pepper.

Councilman Douglas Rex

Councilman Douglas Rex was sworn into office on January 1st, 2019. He was a graduate of Texas Christian University, class of 1971. He worked at N.L. Industries for eight years, then Ashland Chemical for 27 years. Mr. Rex is now retired, volunteering as Fire Commissioner, Operations Emergency Management Liaison, Middlesex Rescue Squad Liaison, County SWAC Liaison, Shade Tree Commission Liaison, and County Transportation Liaison. Councilman Rex is also an active member of Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association support group.

Councilman Rex has been married to Patrice Noel Rex since 1972. They have three children: Timothy, Emilie, and Caroline. He also has six grandchildren: Samantha, Abigail, Kamryn, Kellen, Mariela and Ricardo.

Councilman Jeremiah Carnes

Councilman Jeremiah Carnes has lived in Middlesex since 2016. Councilman Carnes is not a home-grown Jersey native, but was born in Riverside, CA and also lived in Shreveport LA, arriving in Harrison, NJ in 2000. Since moving to Middlesex Borough, Councilman Carnes has served with the Borough’s Rescue Squad, Office of Emergency Management, and Zoning Board.

Sworn onto Middlesex Borough Council on January 1st, 2020, he serves as representative for the the Joint Land Use Board, Recreation Committee, Board of Education, and Cultural & Heritage Committee.

Councilman Carnes is a proud United States Air Forces Veteran where he served as a Security Forces (Military Police) from 2005-2009. He graduated from Berkeley College in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Administration. Councilman Carnes is happily married to his wife, Joy, and serves his family as a Stay-at-Home-Dad (SAHD) to his three children Kaylee, Juliet, and Asher. The Carnes Family has one fur baby, Bella-Presley, a hound dog mix.

Councilman Martin Quinn

Councilman Martin Quinn and his wife Shannon have lived and been homeowners in Middlesex Borough since 2011. They decided to purchase in Middlesex as she grew up here and loved the community.

Martin was appointed to Borough Council on November 24, 2020. He currently serves as the Council Representative to the Shade Tree Commission and the Department of Public Works

Martin previously served on The Zoning Board as a class 4 member from 1/1/2019 to 12/31/2019 and served on The Joint Land Use Board, as the Secretary, and a class 4 member from 1/1/20 until his resignation when he accepted the council position on 11/24/2020.

Martin holds a Master Heating Air Conditioning Refrigeration and Ventilation License from NJ and is currently employed with UA Local 9 HVACR Division. He served in The United States Air Force, and The New Jersey Army National Guard from 2000 to 2004. He is also proud of his memberships in Jerusalem Lodge #26 F. & A.M., and The American Legion Post 306.

The Quinn’s are fortunate to have 2 children. Donovan 18, and Evlin who is 9. They also have a Bichon Frise “puppy” Snowball who is 10 years old.

Councilman Robert Dessino

Proudly born and raised in Middlesex Borough, Councilman Robert Dessino is deeply committed to the well-being of our community. As a dedicated family person, he shares his life with his wife Corilyn and their children, Christopher and Samantha, as well as their daughter Danielle, son-in-law Paul, and their precious daughter Avery, now in Philadelphia, PA.

With a profound connection to Middlesex Borough, Councilman Dessino served as a Department of Public Works employee for 36 years, contributing to the community's growth and maintenance until his retirement in 2020. Having been elected to the Middlesex Borough Council in 2023, he is honored to continue serving his fellow residents until 2025.

His passion for community involvement extends beyond council duties—Councilman Dessino actively contributes as a member of the Land Use Board, Swim Pool Liaison, and Beautification Committee. He says, “It is a true pleasure to serve the citizens of this great community, and I am enthusiastic about the positive impact we can create together.”
