OEM Volunteers Train for Emergency Food and Water Distribution
Volunteers are at the heart of all we do! The Borough’s all-volunteer OEM has regular meetings to prepare in advance to deal with the chaos that may happen during an emergency.
These photos show our volunteers during a recent exercise where OEM simulated the organization and communication required (1) from the emergency operations center, (2) from the mobile command post, and (3) on-site distributing food, water, and even shelter. For example, OEM utilized our trainings to spring into action last summer during the water main break.
