Volunteers Maggie Schneider and Gina Carbonaro OEM

Did you know our OEM works tirelessly preparing to care for residents in case of an emergency? For example, when a disaster or significant event occurs, the Borough’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will coordinate necessary shelters within the Borough. We asked two of our volunteers, “What advice would you give to someone who is interested in volunteering?”

Maggie and Gina answered,
”Our advice for someone who wants to become a volunteer is to think about what organization aligns with your passions and skills and what volunteer work would be the most fulfilling to you. Then look for local opportunities through towns website and social media. Contact the organizations directly to get more information on what they do specifically and what would be required of you. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a positive impact on others, so take the time to find the right opportunity!”
