Senior & Recreation

SAVE THE DATE - Bunny Hop Drive Thru

Hop on through Mountain View Park to see the Easter Bunny and to receive some Easter fun! This event will take place Saturday April 9 @ Mountain View Park from 3-5PM. Rain Date is Sunday April 10. In case of inclement weather, please call our hotline 732 356 7400 x600 updated @ 1PM. 

AARP Tax Prep – Free to Seniors

A free income preparation program, sponsored by AARP, will be taking place at the Senior Center beginning on February 15th and will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 15th. This program is by appointment only. Please call the Senior Center at 732-356-0414 to schedule an appointment. Taxpayers must bring all documents pertaining to income from all sources and their Social Security Card.

Clerk - Special School Election March 8, 2022

The Middlesex Borough Board of Education will be holding a Special School Election to vote on a Capital Improvement Plan on March 8, 2022 between the hours of 2PM – 8PM.  ALL registered voters in Middlesex Borough will be voting for THIS ELECTION ONLY at the Middlesex High School Gymnasium.

IF YOU ARE NOT CURRENTLY A REGISTERED VOTER, the last day to register to vote for this election is February 15, 2022.

If you have requested a mail in ballot and are returning the mail in ballot, please see the options below:

  • All voters can return their mail in ballot via USPS in the postage paid envelope which was provided by 8PM on March 8th

  • All voters can drop off the mail in ballot to the Board of Elections at 11 Kennedy Blvd. in East Brunswick by 8PM on March 8th, or

  • All voters can return the mail in ballot to the secure election drop box behind the Municipal Building at 1200 Mountain Avenue by 8PM on March 8th. 

  • All Voters with any election questions can call the Borough Clerk at 732-356-7400, Ext. 238.  Also, for questions regarding the Capital Improvement Plan, please refer to the Board of Education website.


Library: Children’s Programming

We’ve got a fantastic program lineup to keep you warm and entertained during the snowy months! Our Weekly Programs will begin on February 7 and run until April 8.

  • Join Miss Theresa for songs and stories on Mondays at 10:15am for Toddler Time – ages 0 to 4yrs. 

  • Cure Winter boredom by picking up a Take and Make Bag from the Library – a bag with all the supplies needed for a cool, new craft each week. Included will be a link to an accompanying YouTube instructional video by Miss Chrissy and Miss Kristin for the craft and activity. Crafts are appropriate for ages 8-12 yrs, and can be done ANYTIME – no “in person visits” needed.

  • Wind down on Thursday evenings on Zoom with Miss Theresa for bedtime stories at Pajama Storytime! Snuggle up with your jammies and all your favorite cuddly comforts; all ages are welcome at this evening Zoom program!

  • Create a medieval character and travel to faraway lands on Zoom with Miss Mo, with a Dungeons and Dragons roleplay game! Each week, explore a new chapter in a series from the popular RPG with other friends from the comfort of your own home! Day of the week and time to be announced.

Children’s Special Events: TOUCH-A-TRUCK IS BACK!

BEEP, BEEP, make way for the 2022 TOUCH-A-TRUCK interactive event, coming in June 2022!

Hosted jointly by the Middlesex Department of Public Works and the Middlesex Public Library, Touch-A-Truck is back this year! Explore and learn about all the big trucks and equipment used by our Department of Public Works, as well as all the ways to get your brain working with hands on experiences – activities, treats, giveaways, and more surprises to be announced!
