Proclamation: John L. Madden Honored as Pillar of Middlesex
Mayor Mikolajczyk, on behalf of the Governing Body, proudly recognized John L. Madden as a Pillar of the Community.
John L. Madden, a proud and longstanding resident of Middlesex Borough has consistently demonstrated praiseworthy service and has become an irreplaceable asset to the Borough. John L. Madden served as Mayor, during which he made countless contributions and positive improvements to benefit the Borough and its residents.
In addition to volunteering for many years on Council, John L. Madden has also volunteered his time as a member of several Commissions and Committees including the Joint Land Use Board, the Green Brook Flood Commission, the 10-Year Master Plan Committee, the Housing and Community Development Committee, and for 29 years the Board of Health.
Throughout the years John L. Madden has initiated many projects that have greatly benefited the Borough, including historical preservation for municipal landmarks, the cleanup of the contaminated Middlesex Sampling Plant, and the first Borough wide property tax revaluation since 1986, in addition he served as a committee member on LOSAP Committee where he was able to secure retirement benefits for the Borough volunteer firefighters.
