With free training provided by MedicZero, attendees will learn pediatric and adult techniques for CPR, Stroke, Choking, & more.

The Middlesex Borough Office of Emergency Management, collaborating with the Middlesex Borough Library, are once again hosting a Medic-Zero Training. This incredible initiative started with Rutgers-New Brunswick alumni medical students. The program is all about empowering ordinary people to do extraordinary things, saving lives through simple effective interventions like hands-only CPR and more. The mission of Medic-Zero , an all-volunteer - non-profit organization of college medical students across the country is clear:
Train bystanders to act before first responders arrive, because those few minutes can mean everything. By giving our community, the tools and confidence to step in, we are building a stronger, resilient and safer Middlesex.
We began this journey back in 2022 under the Office of Emergency Management “You Are the Help Until Help Arrives” initiative training with our Middlesex Borough Department of Public Works staff in the Bystander-CPR and Bleeding Control followed by a number of FREE community trainings in areas covering stroke symptoms, basic AED, Hands only CPR for Pediatric and adults, Pediatric/Adult Choking Relief. We are now introducing Use of Epi-Pen and use of Narcan in the March 26, 2026 training. We introduced our “You Are The Help Until Help Arrives” through Medic-Zero to our own Middlesex High School at the Varsity Football games in 2024.
Now it’s time to take it to the next level. Classes such as these not only teach skills- but they also inspire courage and confidence to recognize emergencies and initiate care in the delivery of skilled, evidence-based care by bystander providers.
Your role is critical. Let’s spread the word, encourage participation, and show our community that we are leading the way in life-saving education to create a culture of preparedness and readiness. Every person that is trained could be the difference between life and loss.

Space is limited and open to Middlesex Borough Residents from Age 13 and up. Registration is required. Together we are not only hosting a program, but we are also creating a movement to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism or other man-made disasters to preserve life and property. Its your choice, together we can make this happen!
